So you may be wondering why I have an Elf on the Shelf.

Well, it’s simple, I wanted one.  ;)

Seriously though, everyone knows how much I love Christmas and this year in particular I noticed so many wonderfully fun and creative photographs of everyone’s Elf on the Shelf.

My friend Beverly probably gets the most credit though.  After seeing all of her elf’s adventures, I knew that I had to have one!

Let me introduce you to our newest Christmas addition…

As you can tell, my elf is special.  My elf, like me, comes armed with a Nikon DSLR.

I can already tell you, we are going to have sooo much fun next Christmas.  ;)

So you better watch out, an Elf that reports back to Santa is one thing…but an Elf with a fancy camera, there is no telling what will happen!  With a face like this, do you doubt me??

I have always loved Halloween.  When I was a little kid, the crisp air and trudging through the leaves on the ground….the candy!  You name it, I love everything about Halloween.  As an adult, I love the scary movies, going to haunted houses and still love dressy up and decorating the house.  Since moving into our house 4 years ago, we are fortunate to have a yard big enough to decorate and lots of children who get to come by and enjoy in the fun!

This year, I added LOTS to the decorations and I only wish Halloween was more than one day, so we could enjoy the fun for longer than a few hours!

One of my new favorite additions this year – The Insane Serial Killer.  He shakes back and forth in his chair.

Nope, it’s not the guy from the movie “Legend.”   It’s my honey!  For two years in a row, he has delighted in picking his costume and I couldn’t be more happy that he enjoys all of this with me!

You knew this day would come…the day I bought another pair of Iron Fist Shoes.  :)

Let’s be honest, as long as they keep making them, I will probably keep buying them.  In fact, I do have a birthday coming up…honey, you listening?!?  :)

In case you’re counting, this makes #6!  Seriously, I did believe that I was done until Iron Fist releases the next collection….but I came across an older pair, one that isn’t in stock anymore and I HAD TO HAVE THEM!

The Nightmare of You Platforms are inspired by the Nightmare on Elm Street movies.  I grew up watching these movies.  The original and the third were my favorites.  I went to see the remake last year AND I was Miss Freddy Krueger for Halloween, so to say these shoes called my name is an understatement!  :)

The heels are chrome and the bottoms have some awesome detail:

I couldn’t resist…I bought 3 more pairs of Iron Fist shoes!  When I bought the first two pairs, I liked several but wasn’t sure how I would feel about them until they arrived and I could try them on.  Well, as you know I love the first two pairs, so I went back for some of the others that caught my eye.  This time I went for some of the crazier ones.  What do you think??  I think I’m good for now…well, at least until the Summer collection comes out!

…I think I can almost hear my husband’s eyes rolling.

Even the insides of these shoes are awesome.  All of detail on the inside makes you wish you didn’t have to cover them up with your feet!

I am so far behind in my blog posts and I promise to catch up soon, but first I have to share a new personal obsession – Iron Fist shoes!

Last week, I was reading one of the many blogs I follow – Rock n Roll Bride.  She was sharing a discount code for Iron Fist shoes and showed which shoes she had purchased.  I saw these shoes and thought, “oh my goodness, I have to have those!”  She isn’t from the United States, so figured no chance, but as luck would have it, Iron Fist is in Los Angeles and sell online and in stores all around the country too!  I spent forever on the website checking out all the shoes.  Some of the shoes are over the top, but for some reason, I think they are sooo fun!  I got the Lacey Days Platforms and Sugar Witch!  I love, love, love them!  I wore the Sugar Witch ones to work yesterday and got sooo many compliments.  I was surprised because while I may think they are cute, I know not everyone will.  I may have to buy more soon, just because I think they are so fun and they are the perfect mix of funky and girly!  What do you think?!?  :)

I’m soooo happy to announce that the new website and blog are finally here!   It was a lot of late nights and a lot of work, but I can’t wait for everyone to see it.   If you are looking for any of the old blog entries, no need to go back to the old blog.  You can find everything here!  Please take some time to look around the site and let me know what you think!

It was such a busy Valentine’s Day this year.  I had been fighting a cold earlier in the week and couldn’t work ahead this year.  Sunday morning, I got up super early and got to work.  I had a card to make, bags, brownies, stickers and not a lot of time to accomplish it all.  I was able to get almost all of it done…the homemade brownies had to be sacrificed though.  That was definitely a bummer considering I made super cute bags that said “Homemade Chocolate Brownies.”  Oh well…they were homemade by someone…just not me!  :)
If you would like some Valentine inspiration….the brownie bag and fruit stickers are courtesy of Twig & Thistle.   The card is actually an idea for coffee cup wrappers that I found on eatdrinkchic.com.  There are sooo many fabulous ideas out there if you just look around a bit.

I just wanted to share some exciting news….I will be launching a new website soon!
Along with the new website, I will have new branding too.  Super excited!
I have a lot of work ahead of me to get the site up in the next few months, but I can’t wait to share it with everyone.

This year, I plan to be asking for some volunteers.  I want to expand my brand and will need some volunteer models for some fun sessions.   This will help me become the fabulous photographer that I aspire to be!

I don’t know that I will ever love another picture of my dogs as much as I love this one.    At the time, our new puppy was trying to test the waters with our older dog.  Sometimes, he liked the little puppy and sometimes he didn’t.   When I saw her lay down next to him and he didn’t get up and move, I thought, “You did it little girl!  You have finally won him over.”  
…and they have been inseparable ever since.  

I have been so busy lately that I totally forgot to post some pics from my friend Teri’s graduation party.  It seems like she has been in nursing school forever and finally she has graduated!!  Tomorrow is a big test day for her – so good luck Teri!!  

I was so excited when I saw what this weeks challenge was!!  I just knew the perfect picture to enter:

I recently attended a weekend photo workshop given by Atlanta area wedding photographer, Josh Johnson.  I honestly can’t say enough wonderful things about the experience.  I first heard of Josh last year when I was planning my own wedding.   It was awesome to learn from someone whose work you admire already.
