It recently occurred to me that while I shared this shoot on social media, I haven’t shared it on the blog.  With Kendall graduating Saturday and Breanna becoming a senior, I figured what better time to share than now!  As they say, “better late than never.”  ;) I personally love fall fairs.  There is a crispness to the night air and all of the glorious smells of the fair food.    Mmmm, mmm….making me hungry just thinking of those funnel cakes. Everyone is laughing and enjoying themselves and having fun at fall fairs. I remember being excited about picking out fun fall clothes.  You usually get to start wearing your boots and it’s really the first time of the season you get a chill in the night air. Not this day.  It was ridiculously hot….and I do mean ridiculous!  Kendall and Breanna (and Melisa, Laura and Jenn) were all troopers though and we sweated our way through the day and the shoot.  TMI??  ;)  Ok, maybe, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at these images!!  ❤️

Sometimes you just gotta break character during a shoot and have a little fun…or in this case dance and a “chest bump.”

Class of 2012 is about half way through their final year.  Grayson High School’s Amy Thurber has had a pretty exciting year so far – cheering for the Grayson Rams, homecoming court.  In a few short months, what seemed like it took forever, will finally be here – graduation day.  

So we already know Amy’s plans after high school, but for most seniors, these last few months are a time for reflection and excitement about what the future holds.

Amy – “What I will miss most about High School is cheering for football games, and being so close to all of my friends.
What I’m looking forward to most is getting my own apartment, making new friends and possibly joining a sorority.”

I don’t know about you all, but so many important moments in my life are highlighted by a song.  If I think back about high school graduation, my wedding, anything – usually, if I hear that song, it takes me back.

The soundtrack of your life.

I won’t age myself by telling you the songs that bring me back to high school, but I did ask Amy which song she can relate to most right now.   I’m a bit of a sap.  I never heard this song before and it almost made me tear up a bit.  What a perfect song!  (if you haven’t heard it either, you totally need to look it up and listen)

Another favorite…

I really couldn’t be more pleased with the images from {Twelve}12′s first Senior Spokesmodel, Vicki!  While this is our last Vicki post, you can find her on the portfolio page in the High School Senior section.  And who knows, maybe you’ll see her again.  One of the perks of being a spokesmodel is sometimes being asked to return and model for a styled session.   During the off season, I take time to work on behind the scenes things for the business, but I start to get antsy and need to photograph something.   This year, I hope to come up with some fun winter sessions and therefore you may see some former spokesmodels return.   Maybe I’ll even ask for your help in choosing your favorites and who you’d like to see return to the blog!

I have always loved Halloween.  When I was a little kid, the crisp air and trudging through the leaves on the ground….the candy!  You name it, I love everything about Halloween.  As an adult, I love the scary movies, going to haunted houses and still love dressy up and decorating the house.  Since moving into our house 4 years ago, we are fortunate to have a yard big enough to decorate and lots of children who get to come by and enjoy in the fun!

This year, I added LOTS to the decorations and I only wish Halloween was more than one day, so we could enjoy the fun for longer than a few hours!

One of my new favorite additions this year – The Insane Serial Killer.  He shakes back and forth in his chair.

Nope, it’s not the guy from the movie “Legend.”   It’s my honey!  For two years in a row, he has delighted in picking his costume and I couldn’t be more happy that he enjoys all of this with me!
