Hi again everyone!

Are you enjoying your weekend?  It’s kind of gross and rainy here in Georgia, so I hope that wherever you are, that you are having a great weekend!

If you have been following along, I hinted around last blog post that I had one final outfit of Kendall’s to share, so thank you for coming back!

I remember when Kendall first started planning her senior session, she shared with me that she wanted to have some pictures taken with her dog Dutchess.  Kendall rescued Dutchess and as you can imagine is super special to her.  Needless to say, I was so excited.  You all know how ridiculous I am taking pictures of my own dogs, so I was beyond ecstatic to incorporate her dog into her senior portraits.  And what a sweetheart Dutchess is!!

(and shout out to Melisa (Kendall’s mom) for making the floral collar!!!!  ❤️❤️❤️)

Hopefully, you’ll be seeing a lot more doggies on the blog soon.

I’m hoping to start photographing more dogs & of course, I cannot wait to share with you all!

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!!

I got to spend last weekend being a little Christmas elf, spreading good cheer!

I wanted to give each of my Class of 2013 clients a little something for the holidays as a Thank You and since I LOVE storyboards, I made one for each of them!

While the weather was not so cheerful that day, I hope that I brought a little joy to each of my seniors and their families.  :)

and lastly…I want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas!

A few weeks ago, the website Seniorologie announced they would be celebrating their one year birthday!  In addition to celebrating all month with birthday related giveaways and posts, they wanted to see any other photographers’ birthday concept shoots.    Early this week, I was soooo incredibly excited to see a birthday shoot that I put together featured on their website!   Click here for the Seniorologie post and read all about my inspiration for the shoot.    Then come back here and scroll down for more from this fun shoot!

I don’t know about you guys, but I have a list for everything!  Sometimes 2 lists!  ;)  My doggie helper of the day!

When I decided to order 30 balloons, I didn’t even think about transporting them (which became a tangled mess)

and then where to keep them until the shoot!

I absolutely adore these little vintage looking cameras!

After all the prop preparation – it’s Makeup time!

And then finally….it all comes together!

I was trying not to duplicate images that were in the Seniorologie post, but I have to share this one again, because I literally have had this idea in my head for years!  I have always wanted to recreate different memorable movie scenes and this shoot was perfect to recreate the final scene from the movie “Sixteen Candles!”  Make a Wish!

Thanks to Leslie from Seniorologie for creating such an awesome resource for senior portrait photographers.  If it weren’t for your “birthday,” I probably wouldn’t have had a reason to pull this all together!

By the way…if anyone can get me access to a school (legally, of course), I have lots of other memorable movie scenes that I would love to recreate!

*wink, wink, but seriously!*

If you know me already, you know I love dogs and of course, photography!  When I first heard of Doggies on the Catwalk,  I thought, “how fun would that be to photograph!”   I saw contact information at the bottom of the announcement and thought, what the heck, I will just ask if I can go and photograph it. I never thought I would actually hear back.  It was right around the holidays, so when I didn’t hear back for a couple of days, I wasn’t surprised.  About 3 days later, I got the invite that I could go and I was beyond excited!  

I had my busiest month ever in November.  Getting ready for the holidays in general and then add in 4 sessions – it was crazy busy!  It was a good busy though for sure.   I warn you…this is going to be a long blog post, but well worth it in the end.  :)


First up is the Voykin, Sorbet, McNaught Family:

I don’t know that I will ever love another picture of my dogs as much as I love this one.    At the time, our new puppy was trying to test the waters with our older dog.  Sometimes, he liked the little puppy and sometimes he didn’t.   When I saw her lay down next to him and he didn’t get up and move, I thought, “You did it little girl!  You have finally won him over.”  
…and they have been inseparable ever since.  

I mentioned in the last post that we have a new puppy, so I thought I would share a few photos of her so far.  Tomorrow, she will be 3 months old and she is a cutie…I might be a little biased though.     

It’s been soooo busy the last several months, that I got a little behind updating the blog.  With the holidays and becoming a new puppy parent, I haven’t told you all about the Carpenter family and their holiday photo session.  

I have known the Carpenter family for several years now.  In December, they added their own new addition, Bogey, a dog they adopted from their local humane society.  With Christmas coming and a new doggie, what a great time to take family pictures!   Unfortunately, it was the first super cold weekend of the season, so we really didn’t get to do many outdoor pictures as I had hoped, but I think we got some really great ones regardless.
